to Urbanism.Live, the podcast that explores the edges of digital, data and urbanism.
I would like to start by acknowledging the First Nations people as the original inhabitants of the land on which I'm recording this podcast in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. I would like to acknowledge the land north and south of the Brisbane River as home to both the Turrbal and Jagera nations and pay deep respect to their elders past, present and emerging.
My name is Adam Beck. I'm host of Urbanism.Live. Who am I?
Well I'm an urbanist, technology enthusiast and a firm believer in collective impact as a driver for greater sustainability in our regions, cities and towns.
For this podcast, I'm consolidating my almost 30 years of urbanism experience and insights and I'm blending it with my passion for digital acceleration and data. Over the coming months and beyond I will share with you a weekly summary of news and views from all corners of the digital data and urbanism worlds and from time to time, have some guests join us as well.
And this topic I'm describing is what I refer to as 'digital urbanism', something that we will continually come back to in our conversations and dialogue on this podcast.
And for now I'm referring to digital Urbanism as the practice of using digital technologies and data insights as enablers for shaping cities, infrastructure, property, landscape and places that people love.
I'm fascinated by this idea and the products, policy and the projects that are evolving from it.
